Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto Hosts 2026 Chinese-Bridge Excellence Gathering
On June 2, Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Toronto hosted 2026 Chinese-Bridge Excellence Gathering. Participants including award winners from 2026 Chinese-Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competitions for university, secondary and elementary school students, their family members, Chinese language teachers, and a delegation from the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Education attended the event.

Consul General Luo Weidong delivered remarks. He noted that the Chinese Bridge Competition is not only a language contest, but also a bridge of friendship that connects different cultures and promotes mutual understanding. He expressed hope that during their upcoming trip to China for the competition, the students gain a true understanding of China and share what they had seen and learned with their families and friends upon their return. He hoped they would help to enhance mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of China and Canada, and serve as ambassadors of friendship for China–Canada exchanges.
During the meeting, participants shared their experiences and inspiring stories related to Chinese language learning and teaching, and engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation.
