Consul General Luo Weidong Attends the 2026 "Mid-Autumn in Poetry" Toronto stop of the Canada tour in Celebration of 70th Anniversary of China National Symphony Orchestra
On September 23, Consul General Luo Weidong attended the 2026 "Mid-Autumn in Poetry" Toronto stop of the Canada tour in Celebration of 70th Anniversary of China National Symphony Orchestra (CNSO). Canadian Prime Minister Carney sent a congratulatory letter for the tour. The performance was attended by an audience of over 600 people, including Toronto Symphony Orchestra CEO Mark Williams and guests from various sectors within the consular district.

Consul General Luo stated that the CNSO's visit to Canada to present such a high-caliber performance—showcasing the artistic spirit of contemporary China to local audiences—effectively promotes cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Canada. The stirring melodies of the symphony embodied the cultural essence of the Mid-Autumn Festival—reunion, harmony, and happiness—while putting the Global Civilization Initiative into practice and fostering exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

This performance was part of the third "Mid-Autumn in Poetry" series of events in Toronto, co-hosted by the Consulate General and the China National Tourist Office in Toronto. The "Mid-Autumn in Poetry" Night Market in Burlington took place from September 18 to 20; during the event, Burlington City Councillor Galbraith and other guests, along with members of the public, enjoyed Chinese cuisine and experienced Mid-Autumn Festival culture.
