On February 15th, Consul General Luo Weidong attended the Year of the Horse community celebration held by Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto and delivered remarks. Approximately 500 people, including Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Dumont, representatives from all three levels of Canadian government, and guests from various sectors participated in the event.

Consul General Luo stated that the wonderful performances and Chinese folk experiences at today's celebrations showcase excellent traditional Chinese culture and serve as a bridge for cultural exchange between China and Canada. Prime Minister Carney's recent successful visit to China has facilitated the building of a new strategic partnership between the two countries, bringing new opportunities for exchanges and cooperation in various fields. Starting February 17th, China has implemented a visa-free policy for Canadians, and we warmly welcome Canadian friends to visit China and experience the charm of Chinese culture.

This event is part of the 2026 Toronto "Happy Chinese New Year" series. In addition to dragon and lion dances, martial arts, and dance performances, the event also featured Chinese handicrafts displays and food tastings.
