On February 8th, Consul General Luo Weidong attended the Celebrating Gala to Spring Festival 2026 and delivered remarks. Approximately 300 guests and audiences attended the performance.

Consul General Luo stated that the performance featured artists from various ethnic backgrounds performing renowned Chinese and Western pieces to welcome the Year of the Horse. Using music as a bridge, the concert not only allowed locals Chinese community to experience the festive atmosphere of their hometown but also provided Canadian friends with a direct experience of the unique charm of Chinese New Year culture. Recently Prime Minister Carney successfully visited China, and both sides reached important consensus on promoting the building of a new strategic partnership, injecting strong momentum into cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

This event is part of the 2026 Toronto "Happy Chinese New Year" series, conducted by CAST Orchestra, the Toronto Chinese Music School, the Golden Tune Choir, and several invited artists.
