Consul General Luo Weidong Attends the 2026 Happy Chinese New Year "Golden Bell Laureates" Concert
On February 16th, Consul General Luo Weidong attended the 2026 Happy Chinese New Year "Golden Bell Laureates" Concert and delivered remarks. More than 1,000 guests and audiences from the consular district watched the performance.

Consul General Luo stated that this concert brought together top contemporary Chinese folk music musicians, allowing the audience to experience the profound heritage of excellent traditional Chinese culture and playing a symphony of mutual learning between civilizations in the multicultural city of Toronto. China-Canada relations are progressing along a positive trajectory, and China's visa-free policy for Canada facilitates personnel exchanges. He hoped that this concert would serve as an opportunity to deepen cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Canada, allowing more Canadian friends to understand and appreciate China.

This event was part of the 2026 Toronto "Happy Chinese New Year" series. It was hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto, and led by renowned erhu player and President of the Central Conservatory of Music, Yu Hongmei. The performance featured Liu Sha, principal conductor of the China National Traditional Orchestra, along with several winners of the "Golden Bell Award," China's highest music award, and was presented by the Central Conservatory of Music Chinese Orchestra.
