On July 12, 2525, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto held an event themed as “Educational Exchanges between China and Canada - from beneficiaries to contributors” at George Brown College. Consul General Luo Weidong attended the event and delivered a speech, and Li Renzhu, the Counselor, presided over the event.

Consul General Luo said that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of the strategic partnership between China and Canada; China is willing to continue to promote the development of bilateral relations with the concerted efforts of Canada; the exchanges in the field of education between the two sides have been fruitful over the decades. It is believed that there will be more room for cooperation in the future. The Consulate General is willing to provide convenience for schools like George Brown College in the consular district to expand cooperation with China.

Dr. Cindy Gouveia, Vice President of George Brown College, thanked the Consulate General for choosing to hold this important event at the Waterfront Campus of the school, and looked forward to more cooperation and exchanges with China. Those who once benefited from the two-way exchange programs had profound exchanges on the comparative advantages of the two education systems, and explored more areas of cooperation in the future, in an effort to jointly promote people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between the two countries.
