On May 31, Consul General Luo Weidong attended the opening ceremony of the Kung Fu Film Festival held in Markham and delivered a speech. Senator Yuen Pau Woo and other politicians and guests such as representatives of relevant associations, media, and actors attended the ceremony.
Consul General Luo said that Kung Fu is a cultural gene flowing in the blood of Chinese civilization and a cultural language connecting the world. He hopes that this film festival will enable the audience to appreciate the development of China's film industry and feel the charm of Chinese martial arts spirit, while making positive contributions to promoting the integration of multiple cultures and promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
This is the first time that Toronto has held the Kung Fu Film Festival. The event is co-organized by the Southern Film Culture Foundation, the World Complete Martial Arts Federation, and the Canada Hong Kong Intercultural Association. The film festival lasted for two days, showing 7 Kung Fu films and holding post-screening exchanges and discussions.
