On May 14, 2025, Mr. Luo Weidong, Consul General of PRC in Toronto, attended the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) Roadshow and delivered remarks. Mr. Michael Chan, Deputy Mayor of Markham, Mr. Bijan Ahmadi, Chief Operating Officer of Canada China Business Council, together with nearly 70 attendees from local governments, businesses organizations participated in the event.
Mr. Luo said that CISCE represents a major initiative by China to safeguard the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains. Under current global situation, international cooperation in industrial and supply chains has even greater practical and urgent significance. Given the highly complementary nature of China and Canada, there is great potential for deepening cooperation in industrial and supply chains between the two economies. He hopes that Canadian companies, by participating in the CISCE, could share the dividends of China’s economic growth, and contribute to Canada’s economic diversification endeavor.
