On June 21, 2011, Prime Minister Hun Sen and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong of the Kingdom of Cambodia sent letters respectively to Premier Wen Jiabao and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, expressing their deepest sympathy and condolences to China for the great loss of life and property caused by the floods in some southern provinces in China.

On June 27, Premier Wen replied to Prime Minister Hun Sen to express heartfelt gratitude of the Chinese government and people to him and to the Cambodian government and people through him. Foreign Minister Yang also replied to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong on the same day to express his sincere appreciation.
