Consul General Luo Weidong attended the opening ceremony of the 37th Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival

On June 14, Consul General Luo Weidong attended the opening ceremony of the 37th Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival held on Toronto Lake Island and delivered remarks. Canadian MP Micheal Ma and other Canadian three-level political representatives and guests from all walks of life attended the event.

Consul General Luo said that dragon boat racing as an important part of Chinese fine traditional culture embodies the concept of unity, cooperation and solidarity, and builds a bridge for friendly exchanges between China and other countries. He commended the efforts of the organizer, TCBA, and invited everyone to travel to China to experience the real China.

This year, the Chinese culture and tourism booth set up by the Consulate General of China in Toronto and the China National Tourist Office in Toronto has doubled in size. In addition to the promotion of Chinese tourism, the tea art display of the "Tea For Harmony" Yaji Cultural Salon branch venue attracted a large number of tourists to watch and experience

Founded in 1989, the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival is one of the largest international dragon boat events in North America. This year's Dragon Boat Race Festival will have more than 100 teams from all over the world and about 5,000 contestants, and is expected to attract more than 80,000 tourists.
