On May 20, 2025, Mr. Luo Weidong, Consul General of PRC in Toronto, delivered remarks at Air China Toronto-Beijing Non-stop Route Launch Event. Ms. Jean Yip, elected MP, Mr. Alvin Tedjo, Mississauga city councilor,  together with nearly 100 attendees from Greater Toronto Airport Authority, businesses and tourist organizations participated in the event.

Consul General Luo congratulated Air China on the resumption of its Toronto-Beijing route, stating that smooth travel between China and Canada will enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples, strengthen and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as economy and trade, education, science and technology, and culture. The route resumption is conducive to the stable growth of bilateral relations and holds positive significance for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Mr. Luo conveyed that China side is willing to cooperate with Canada side in increasing more direct flights so as to provide more convenient air travel services for people-to-people exchanges.
