On the afternoon of September 21, Luo Weidong, Consul General PRC in Toronto, attended the 1st “Mid-Autumn Festival-A Moonment to Remember” Event in Toronto. The event is initiated and supported by the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto and co-organized by the Canada Chinese Opera Arts Center and China National Tourist Office in Toronto, which included a variety of art displays such as Peking Opera, poetry recitation, calligraphy and painting.
Consul General Luo extended holiday greetings and blessings to the audience. He hopes that the Mid-Autumn Festival brand cultural event can continue and become a platform for local Chinese and friends of all ethnic groups to celebrate the festival together, which will not only showcase the excellent Chinese culture, but also enrich the multiculture in Canada and enhance the friendship between the peoples of China and Canada.
China has launched the "Mid-Autumn Festival-A Moonment to Remember" brand event overseas since 2017. Every year around the Mid-Autumn Festival, China Cultural Centers and China National Tourist Offices around the world jointly organize colorful cultural events to explain to people from all countries the cultural connotations of reunion, harmony and happiness contained in the Mid-Autumn Festival.
