Acting Consul General Cheng Hongbo Attended the Opening Ceremony of Canada New Immigrants Support Center

August 10, Mr.Cheng Hongbo, Acting Consul General of P.R.China in Toronto, attended the opening ceremony of Canada New Immigrants Support Center and delivered a speech. More than 150 guests, including representatives of Canadian government and Chinese community were in attendance.

In his speech, Acting Consul General Cheng recognized the efforts and positive results made by Canadian Aixin Charity Foundation and other overseas Chinese organizations over the years in uniting the overseas Chinese community, supporting education and health care in China and the consular district, serving local social development, and promoting the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between China and Canada. It is hoped that the establishment of Canada New Immigrants Support Center will help new Chinese immigrants to take root in Canada, actively integrate into mainstream society and make greater contributions to Canada’s multiculturalism.

Acting Consul General Cheng also welcomed overseas Chinese in the consular district to tell their difficulties and concerns to the Consulate General in time. He stressed the Consulate General's continued adherence to the principle of "people-centered diplomacy" "serving overseas Chinese" and its commitment to offering efficient,convenient and timely consular protection, assistance and services for Chinese citizens and overseas students as always.
