Remarks by Consul General He Wei on the official launch of the Brochure for Consular Protection and Assistance of Chinese Citizens (Toronto version)
2017-05-11 22:06

Distinguished guests from the Police, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA),

Chinese community representatives and students,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Good afternoon!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome all of you to the official launch of the Brochure for Consular Protection and Assistance of Chinese Citizens (Toronto version). First of all, I'd like to extend my special thanks to the GTAA for its generous support in facilitating this event.

As the China-Canada relations usher in a new golden era, more and more Chinese tourists and students will be attracted to Canada, which may pose a big challenge to our consular services and protection. That’s why we waste no time to produce and launch this brochure as a major measure for preventative consular protection. It provides the Chinese newcomers, including tourists, students and immigrants, with handy and practical information about Canada as well as the dos and donts instructions in face of dangers and difficulties, so as to reduce the overall possibility of misunderstanding and accidents.

Our efforts to protect and assist overseas Chinese are always a work in progress, not a mission accomplished. Over the years, along the path, we have received a lot of support and assistance from the Police, CBSA and GTAA, for which we are truly grateful. We hope to continue the friendly and efficient partnerships with all of you, and we will continue to try the utmost to provide quality and efficient services to our citizens in Ontario and Manitoba.

Thank you very much. Have a very wonderful day!
