On November 30th, 2024, the 2024 Awarding Ceremony for the Wellness & Security of Chinese Students in Ontario and Manitoba was held at the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in Toronto. Consul General Luo Weidong attended the ceremony and presented award certificates to the winners. 50 representatives from more than 20 universities, public and private schools and local education authorities in Ontario and Manitoba, joined the event.

Consul General Luo gave a speech at the Ceremony. He said that the safety and well being of Chinese students studying abroad are always the top priorities of Chinese government. The Consulate General of P.R.China in Toronto has been making great efforts to protect the safety and health of Chinese students studying in the consular district, with the Chinese Students and Scholars Associations, the administrators of universities and colleges, and the local educational authorities as three pillars. The Chinese Consulate will continue to work with all parties to create a more inclusive, harmonious, and safer environment of learning and living , and to facilitate Chinese students to study safely, happily, and successfully.

Consuls from the Consulate gave lectures on the topics of the consular protection and the studying safe abroad. Representatives from CSSAs, universities and local education authorities  shared their experiences and lessons. The participants said they will continue providing the safe environment for Chinese students from the new beginning.  

The 2024 Competition for the Wellness & Security of Chinese Students in Ontario and Manitoba was held from August to October 2024. It aims to integrate wisdom and resources from various educational institutions, to help Chinese students study safely and successfully in Ontario and Manitoba.
