The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, in partnership with the Toronto Parks and Recreation, Economic Development Culture & Tourism, the University of Toronto Libraries, the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto (CCCGT) and the Toronto Community and Culture Centre, will jointly hold an exhibition Chinese Script, From Oracle Bones to Computer Bytes at the 2nd floor of Robarts Library (130 St. George St.), University of Toronto.

The exhibition will provide a guide for the students as well as the general public of Toronto a visual understanding of the Chinese characters, one of the oldest written languages in the world and the only ancient language still in use today. The exhibition is divided into six sections, introducing respectively the origin of Chinese Script, Structure of Chinese Characters, Evolution of Chinese Script, Chinese Calligraphy, Contributions of Chinese Script and Chinese Script in the Information Age. A flash presentation of pictographic Chinese characters and a DVD about Chinese characters will be played at the exhibition place.

The exhibition will open to the public starting October 7 and lasts 50 days till November 26th. Admission is free and all are welcome.
