On October 17, Cheng Hongbo, Acting Consul General of PRC in Toronto, attended the Chinese Music Concert 2024 at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. About 600 guests watched the performance.

Mr. Cheng said that in recent years, traditional Chinese culture and art represented by folk music have been increasingly popular among people around the world, demonstrating the profound heritage of Chinese civilization and its growing cultural confidence. For many years, the Toronto Chinese Music School has been committed to inheriting Chinese culture and cultivating emerging artistic talents. The performance on the same stage by folk music masters from China and Canada and local Chinese youth students is a vivid practice of the creative transformation and innovative development of China's excellent traditional culture.

This high-quality concert was hosted by the Toronto Chinese Music School and co-organized by the North American Chinese Orchestra. The program integrated and adapted outstanding Chinese folk music works, including both classic and innovative pieces, using a variety of Chinese musical instruments.
