On October 4, Cheng Hongbo, Acting Consul General of PRC in Toronto, attended the opening ceremony of 2024 International Exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting.
Mr. Cheng said that the exchange and mutual learning of culture and art can transcend language and national boundaries. This exhibition covers fine paintings and calligraphy art from China, Canada and many places around the world, fully demonstrating the profound essence of Chinese culture and the colorful charm of the world's multiculturalism. It is hoped that through this exhibition, the local audience will enhance their understanding and thinking of the exchange and mutual learning between different regions and civilizations in the world. It is also hoped that all artists, as messengers of integrating different civilizations, will make more positive efforts to spread the cultures of various countries and enhance understanding, friendship and cooperation among peoples of all countries.
This event is the first international exhibition of calligraphy and painting hosted by the National Artists Association of Canada. It collects works from hundreds of calligraphy and painting artists from more than 40 countries around the world, covering many categories such as Chinese painting, calligraphy, seal carving, Tangka, oil painting, watercolor, etc.
